This holy month of Ramadan sees many Muslims in Dar practicing their monthly fasts. It is of such delight to see the city center lit up during the night and to see people with smiles, going to pray is one of the happiest sights. As soon as time comes, fasts are broken by having dates and well, it is almost tradition, as I have seen over the past couple of years that in the city center, people gather at small restaurants to have their “Iftaar” and socialise before attending evening prayers. This holy month almost seems to change the face of Dar for a month as it brings so much light and peace into the atmosphere, and ample happiness across people’s faces. These minarets shown above are a few of the many mosques present within the city center.
